B’TWIN products are first tested in our lab in Lille before they’re taken to face the real world terrain and conditions of the outdoors.
Quality and longevity tests
To test the quality of our bikes, we attach them to machines that can recreate conditions of stress over long periods of time. For example, to test the quality of a bike’s forks, we put them through the same compression movement 150,000 times.
Tested and EN-71 approved
After intensive lab testing, we test our B’TWIN kids’ bikes with children and their parents in the real environments of play. All of our kids’ bikes pass EN-71 toy safety standards.
EN-71 is a safety standard applied to toys, products and materials designed or intended for children of less than 14 years to use in play.
Before their first ride
Adjust the height of the saddle and handlebars to suit the child, making sure the minimum insertion mark on the seat isn’t visible. When they sit on the saddle, both of the child’s forefeet should be touching the ground. Next, ensure the brakes are correctly adjusted. To adjust the brakes, turn the adjustment wheel located in front of the brake lever (clockwise for tightening and anti-clockwise for loosening). Finally, pump up the tyres to the recommended pressure written on the tyre’s sidewall.
How to clean the bike
If the bike is covered in dust, use a dry cloth to clean it. For dirt that’s harder to get rid of, clean the frame, forks, handlebars and wheels with hot water, a sponge and some bike wash. When you’ve finished, wipe it down with a dry cloth to prevent rust. After cleaning, we recommend adding lubricant to the chain and other moving parts.
We strongly advise that you do not use a pressure washer to clean the bike. It may damage the function of its components, which can put the rider in danger.
The best way to store the bike
Make sure to store the bike in a clean and dry place, ideally in a covered environment protected from the weather.
Replacing the rear inner tube
Remove the chain guard to access the rear wheel.
