How to choose and improve your performance with dumbbells

3 kg dumbbells are recommended for lower body work such as lunges, because the muscles engaged are more powerful than the upper body muscles. They are generally used by more experienced athletes. If you're just getting started with strength training, start out by perfecting your movements with a lighter weight. You can increase the weight of your dumbbells as you make progress.
