BODY SHAPE

Accustomed to surfing in waves of less than one metre, the intermediate surfer takes a lot of risks as she dares to progress. It is therefore essential that she not waste time or attention readjusting her swimsuit! That's why we designed our high-waisted NORA briefs. Its wide waistband with a body-shaping mesh provides a very good hold in the waves, as tested by our panel of intermediate surfers. With a medium feminine cut.

HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR SIZE

To ensure a perfect fit in the water, it is important to choose the right size while you are dry because once they are in the water, swimsuits become looser. We therefore recommend you buy the correct size. The swimsuit needs to fit snugly against your body in the fitting room, and you should feel supported. The elastane content in certain components used in the design of our swimsuits softens and relaxes in the water.

YOU ARE AN INTERMEDIATE SURFER

You regularly go surfing. During your sessions, you paddle out to the line-up, duck dive under the breaking waves if you are on a shortboard, or turtle roll if you are on a longboard, then surf waves of less than one metre. You often fall and are used to being shaken about underwater. Your swimsuit must meet the requirements of your activity and stay in place for each of your movements. We have designed a range for you that is suited to regular activity and your body shape.

ACTIVE AT THE BEACH!

Whether you are a surfer or enjoy bathing in the sea, you don’t want to lose your swimsuit! This is why we test all our swimsuits in the waves. Each model is designed for surfing and perfectly suits other water sports: stand-up paddle boarding, sailing, kite surfing, bathing, etc.

STAYS IN PLACE IN THE WAVES: THE TEST

We design swimsuits that promise to stay in place in the waves. To test them, we use a panel of female surfers with different body shapes who follow a test protocol in a pool at our design offices in Hendaye, southwest France. This protocol aims to reproduce the sensations experienced by surfers when being thrown around by a wave. If this test is conclusive, we go surfing in the sea to test our swimwear in real conditions.

FEEL GOOD IN OUR SWIMWEAR

Our work centres on helping women to feel good in our swimsuits. The bust is not flattened, the bottoms don't dig in, and the level of coverage varies. Our mission is to ensure that every woman can find a swimming costume that suits her body, whatever her shape or size.

REMOVAL OF PLASTIC HYGIENE STICKERS FROM OUR SWIMWEAR

All women's swimsuits designed by Decathlon are sold without plastic hygiene stickers. This decision is based on a desire to reduce our use of plastic. Saving 940 km of plastic every year! Please do your bit by always keeping your underwear on in our changing rooms.

DESIGN

Based in Hendaye, in South West France, our offices are right on the water's edge! We can design a swimsuit one day, then test it directly in the sea to check how it holds up in the waves.
