FORCLAZ tents are tested in wind and rain, in controlled lab conditions & in the unpredictable great outdoors, trekking in the French Alps.
Tested against the elements
Force 8 wind resistance tested in a wind tunnel on a rotating platform to withstand harsh weather across three seasons.
Waterproofing test
Our initial lab test simulates a tropical storm with the equivalent of 200mm of rain per hour. The second test is done in the field under real-life conditions by our teams.
Real life testing
Used by trekking enthusiasts in spring 2022 who walked and bivouacked in the French Alps across 5 weeks.

How to pitch
Fix tent pegs into all corners of the tent. Adjust your hiking poles to 115 cm in length, insert with handle up under flysheet directly above each door. Put 2 stakes in at the foot of the tent. Attach & adjust guy lines.
Ventilation & condensation
There is high ventilation at door level and a mesh top section in the bedroom to encourage air flow and water repellent fabric on the bedroom edges to protect against condensation and draughts.
To reduce condensation inside your tent, it must be properly pitched, with the fabric kept taut without being over-stretched, and the air vents open, even when it’s raining.
