WHY IS THIS THE RIGHT AERIAL HOOP FOR ME?
A Bubble Aerial Hoop will offer you some unique and exciting possibilities for training and performance.
The Bubble at the top allows you to rig from the centre point AND grip the top bar with one or two hands. You can also perform crowd-pleasing Meat-Hooks from the top of the hoop!
The ability to hold the very centre of the top bar and the bottom bar also allows you to perform Flags and Horizontal Splits.
We have designed and tested the Bubble at the top to allow for a comfortable grip in the centre of the top bar with two hands, meaning you can straddle comfortably. While there is enough space inside the Bubble for two hands, it won’t get in the way when you need to hock on to the top bar.
Another benefit of the Bubble is you do not have any metal-on-metal rigging right at the top of your hoop!
WHICH SIZE DO I NEED?
1) Sit on a chair. Measure from the seat of the chair to the top of your head and add 10cm.
2) Stand up straight with feet together and flat on the floor. Bend at your hips until your torso is at 90 degrees to your legs. Measure from floor to your lower back, add 5cm.
These are a guideline for the correct size.
1) is for beginners. This method means you won't feel cramped or hit your head.
2) ensures you can catch your feet on the top of the hoop. Your feet can miss the top of the hoop if it's too big, if it's too small they can hit the top when not intended.
Note: Sizes listed are EXTERNAL diameter. For internal diameter deduct 5 cm.
HOW DO I RIG THIS AERIAL HOOP?
You will need to choke a Polyester Strop (Round Sling, Span Set) or Prodigy Aerial PolySafe Rope from the centre of the Bubble. If you are using the Bubble Aerial Hoop bare (without tape), you will need to put tape at the point where you choke the strop.
In some circumstances, you could use a Prodigy Aerial Slings - 18mm, but this would not usually be recommended. You could use these in a performance if you need rigging which is less visible to the audience.
If you do not want the Bubble Aerial Hoop to spin, you need to connect your strop/rope to your anchor point with a carabiner. We recommend this when you want to keep a hoop rigged from one point facing an audience.
Carabiners we recommend using are Prodigy SG21 Screw Gate Carabiners, Prodigy AL21 Double-Action Carabiners, or Prodigy AL22 Triple-Action Carabiners.
If you need the Bubble Aerial Hoop to spin, you need a carabiner at the top of the rope/strop, which can be connected to a swivel and then another carabiner securing your anchor point.
Swivels we recommend using are the Prodigy Aerial Swivel - Small Round or the Prodigy Aerial Swivel - Large Round.
DO I NEED ANYTHING ELSE?
A safe rigging/anchor point.
There are optional accessories and essential rigging gear. What you need for each type of Aerial Hoop varies.
We recommend the following as essential accessories:
Prodigy Snake Tape - High Quality Aerial Hoop Tape (14m / 15yd)
Firetoys Getta Grip - Rosin Grip for Aerial
The Introduction to Aerial Hoop book.

IMPORTANT NOTE…
Everything above assumes you have a suitable and safe rigging point to attach to, like a professionally installed rigging point or a reputable and rated freestanding rig. Not every home/studio will be the same. If you haven’t established a safe rigging point, then please do this first with the help of a structural engineer/experienced rigger/professional familiar with what you're hanging and where you're hanging it.
