The high grade alloy stem is sealed around the chrome plated slide bar to help prevent the collection of dirt and debris inside, which would restrict movement - and your fun! Brightly coloured hand grips will keep your hands firmly in place, and the extra strong, rigid footplate with textured surface will ensure a firm footing when you're pushing it to the limits.
