WHY IS THIS THE RIGHT AERIAL HOOP FOR ME?
1-Point Aerial Hoops are the most widely used Aerial Hoop. The single tab is simple to rig and ideal for spinning with a swivel.
A 1-Point Aerial Hoop has more stability and predictability when rigged from the tab than a 0-Point/tabless hoop. But if you want to choke soft rigging directly to the hoop, you can!
The tab means you can give your performance a visual impact by connecting a Prodigy Dyna-Core Hanging rope for Aerial Hoop. Not only does a Hanging Rope look great on stage, but it also has a better grip than a strop/spanset.
With limited height, a 1-Point or 0-Point hoop is best when compared to a 2-Point hoop.
Studios usually prefer to use a 1-point or 0-point hoop, and so do most beginners.
Some advanced moves benefit from having the hoop rigged from its tab (opposed to having a strop choked onto the bar). Moves such as Beats to Front Balance, Coffin Drop, and other catch and release moves from the top bar work best when you make use of the rigging point. That's because it makes the hoop's movements more predictable, and the performer doesn’t need to consider which side of the choke they are on.
We make our Aerial Hoops in the UK to exceptionally high safety standards.
Our Aerial Hoops come ready to rig up and use out of the box, with a grippy matt powder coating that is durable and looks great. However, the bare powder coating can take a little while to warm up (like a pole dancing pole), so many people prefer to tape their hoop
WHICH SIZE DO I NEED?
1) Sit on a chair. Measure from the seat of the chair to the top of your head and add 10cm.
2) Stand up straight with feet together and flat on the floor. Bend at your hips until your torso is at 90 degrees to your legs. Measure from floor to your lower back, add 5cm.
These are a guideline for the correct size.
1) is for beginners. This method means you won't feel cramped or hit your head.
2) ensures you can catch your feet on the top of the hoop. Your feet can miss the top of the hoop if it's too big, if it's too small they can hit the top when not intended.
Note: Sizes listed are EXTERNAL diameter. For internal diameter deduct 5 cm.
HOW DO I RIG THIS AERIAL HOOP?
You can choke a Polyester Strop (Round Sling, Span Set) or Prodigy Aerial PolySafe Rope from the centre, sitting at the tab. Attaching soft rigging directly to the hoop is good for reducing metal on metal wear and removes hardware from where you will hock on.
You can attach a Polyester Strop, Aerial PolySafe Rope, or a Prodigy Dyna-Core Hanging rope to the tab with a carabiner.
If you do not want the Aerial Hoop to spin, you need to connect your strop/rope to your anchor point with a carabiner. We recommend this when you want to keep a hoop rigged from one point facing an audience.
Carabiners we recommend using are Prodigy SG21 Screw Gate Carabiners, Prodigy AL21 Double-Action Carabiners, or Prodigy AL22 Triple-Action Carabiners.
If you need the Aerial Hoop to spin, you need a carabiner at the top of the rope/strop, which can be connected to a swivel and then another carabiner securing your anchor point.
Swivels we recommend using are the Prodigy Aerial Swivel - Small Round or the Prodigy Aerial Swivel - Large Round.
DO I NEED ANYTHING ELSE?

IMPORTANT NOTE…
Everything above assumes you have a suitable and safe rigging point to attach to, like a professionally installed rigging point or a reputable and rated freestanding rig. Not every home/studio will be the same. If you haven’t established a safe rigging point, then please do this first with the help of a structural engineer/experienced rigger/professional familiar with what you're hanging and where you're hanging it.
