- WHY CHOOSE A TENNIS-SPECIFIC SKIRT?The most important role a tennis skirt has to play is carrying balls. There are two pockets built into the undershorts (one on the left and one on the right) so that you can quickly move on to your second serve or start a new rally. For players who like tucking their ball into their undershorts: the fabric was specially chosen to hold the ball in place, even during intense play.
