Why use a pad
The extra comfort this pad gives you is not to be sniffed at. It also creates a slightly unstable base (but not too unstable) so you can work your deep muscles that little bit harder. Lastly, it improves your positioning. For example, if you place the pad under your bum when seated, it'll help you align your back and get it more vertical.
