How to choose Your ski goggles

Ski goggles are an important part of your ski gear and provide essential protection for your eyes in some of the most extreme conditions.

UV rays can be overbearingly intense when you’re high up on the mountain as the altitude increases the brightness; the snow can reflect sunlight to be almost blinding. Find the right pair of ski goggles to help you see clearly while keeping the snow and rain out of your eyes.

Size

It's that simple

Unlike the rest of your ski gear – boots, skis and helmet – it won’t take long to pick the right fit as the sizing is straightforward. Small goggles are made for children or adults with small faces, while Large sizes are for everyone else.

If you wear glasses, look out for our OTG (Over The Glasses) designs to get the best out of both worlds.

Anti-fog

To help you see more clearly

Decathlon's range of ski goggles all come with anti-fog treatment to help you see more clearly on the mountain.

There are three types of anti-fog levels – the first is fine for beginners or skiers who won't be exposed to extreme weather and is a simple beginner's lens.

The second type are considered a 'performance level' lens and features a double-insulating lens.

The double-ventilated lens is the go-to for more advanced skiers and harsher conditions.

Weather and visibility

Goggles with UV Protection

All our ski goggles offer UV protection as standard, so that's one less thing for you to think about. You'll also need to consider the weather conditions you'll be exposed to on your ski trip – if it's going to be foggy or snowing heavily, you'll suffer from low visibility and opt for a pair of ski goggles fitted with a clear yellow lens.

Opt for a dark lens if you expect visibility to be good and the sun to be out. Not sure where you'll end up? Prepare for all conditions with interchangeable photochromic and electro-photochromic lenses. This means your ski lenses will adjust depending on your environment and become lighter or darker, responding to the light changes.
