Pannier Bags and Saddle Bags

Pannier Bags & Saddle Bags

A saddle bag or bike pannier is the ideal small yet practical accessory. Saddle bags fix underneath your saddle and can carry repair tools & first aid kits, while panniers fix to the back and allow you to carry larger items.

Saddle Bags

Saddle bags are the ideal way to carry small items like first aid kits, puncture repair kits and other handy tools while you’re on your bike. They fix underneath the saddle for a small, yet practical accessory.

Hard saddle bags offer a more robust storage opportunity, most commonly you see leather saddlebags which are hard compared to panniers - which are often a lighter synthetic material to keep the weight down.

Bike Pannier Bags

Cycle Panniers typically fix to the back of your bike and offer substantially more storage than a saddle bag, sometimes called 'bikepacking'. First, you'll need to choose a pannier rack for the back of your bike, this attaches above the back wheel, and then you can choose your bicycle pannier bag to hang from it and store your belongings.

If you're likely to be cycling in adverse weather then it's worth picking a waterproof pannier bag, and while you're at it take a look at these bike covers.

Not sure about attached bags to the bike? If you're likely to be on and off and don't want to leave your goods unattended then cycling bags might be better for your needs. If you'll be leaving your bike to stop here there and everywhere you'll probably need a bike kickstand too.
