Shop Horse Riding Crops and Spurs - Online or In Store

A riding crop is one of the ways a rider can control a horse, giving a quick flick of the wrist to motivate their horse and for appropriate dressage. Equestrian riders often use a variety of leather equipment which is harmless to horses. Decathlon stocks short whips – riding crops – for adult or child riders, but it’s important to remember how to use your other communication means (your voice, hands and legs) to command the horse.

A good example of this is how to subtly use spurs to pass signals to the horse. Most riders simply point their heel a touch towards the horse and flick them up. This is as much as the horse needs to be directed and can barely be seen by observers. Be careful not to use a spur too much and cause the horse to bolt!  Interested? discover our unique range of horse riding equipment within our Horse Riding department.
