Using this finishing process enables us to reduce CO2 emissions linked to the production of undyed textiles by at least 58% compared to conventional dyeing.
Our design teams are working to develop processes that will reduce the impact of a product, while preserving its technical characteristics. This reduction relates to the following indicators: climate change, air pollution, water pollution and resource depletion.
Naturally anti-bacterial
Merino wool has bacterial-fighting properties which prevent the development of odours.
Thermal temperature regulation
By wicking away moisture and promoting the flow of fresh air, merino maintains your ideal body temp.
Itch-free softness
Wool is traditionally itchy - but our merino is spun into ultra-fine fibres for a soft, smooth finish.

FORCLAZ products undergo rigorous tests at our design centre at the foot of Mont-Blanc, before being tested in the field in real conditions.
Odour control lab tests
Made from 100% Merino wool, the fabric limits perspiration odours and has been laboratory tested according to ISO 17299-3. This means you can wear your top for longer, and carry less clothing on multi-day treks.
Thermal lab tests
We've tested the material in a climate-controlled chamber in order to determine its performance level. The results highlighted the heat-regulation properties of wool. After intense physical exercise and increased perspiration, wool helps to maintain a consistent body temperature while synthetic fabrics cool down faster. The unpleasant cooling or "freezing effect" is therefore reduced by the Merino wool.
Field tests in the mountains
Our teams, along with a panel of testers (made up of partners, ambassadors and customers) put our clothing through its paces in the mountains, to ensure it stands up to the conditions you’ll encounter during your treks.
All our products are tested throughout their development until they go to market.
