The benefits of "ball fibre" synthetic wadding

The "ball fibre" wadding is an effective alternative to feathers:
- like feathers, it is composed of multiple fibres that are very good at trapping the air inside, thereby providing insulation from the cold
- it offers good thermal insulation, even when wet
- it is easy to maintain: machine wash and tumble dry
However, it will be heavier and less compressible than a garment filled with feathers

What do you mean by a waterproof jacket?

The resistance of a fabric to water seepage. This is measured using an approved water pressure test. Knowing that the average water pressure of rain varies from 1000 mm to 2000 mm, a fabric is considered waterproof above 2000 mm. Our products resist pressure from 2000 to 10,000mm. They are therefore very waterproof and suited to even the most extreme weather conditions.

What do you mean by sealed seams or waterproof strips?

These sealed (or taped) seams are closed with waterproof thermo-sealed strips. They are placed behind the seams and are essential for waterproofing clothing so that water cannot enter through capillarity (water being absorbed by the threads and holes of the fabric).

A score for comparing products' environmental impact

The environmental impacts of the product are calculated over its entire life cycle and with the variety of indicators.

An overall ABCDE score is given to help you identify products with the best environmental performance more readily by comparing the same type of product (T-shirts, trousers, backpacks, etc.).

Decathlon is committed to visually displaying environmental impact.

Fabric is made waterproof and windproof by applying a coating or membrane to the inside. In this effect, a waterproof cloth has the technical characteristics to be certified windbreaker. It is very important to be protected from the wind, in activity as at rest, because it cools the body enormously.
