TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Inflating Power of down/feather filling

For this down jacket filled 75/25, the fill power of the down/feather is guaranteed to be greater than or equal to 540 CUIN. The fill power is a measure of the down's thermal insulation capacity and its potential to "trap" air. Down with higher fill power takes up more space, trapping more air and providing greater thermal insulation.

The advantages of duck down and feather filling (for the back and front of the down jacket)

The down's long-lasting fill power gives it 3 important qualities for hiking:
- Thermal insulation thanks to the air trapped in the down and feathers
- Ultra-lightweight: with equal warmth feather is lighter than synthetic wadding. This saves even more weight in your backpack
- Ultra-compressible

Feather origin

Thanks to our traceability system, we can guarantee the origin of the feathers, which are sourced in accordance with our responsible material commitments. Our suppliers are committed to using only feathers that come from ducks that are bred for their meat and which are plucked after slaughtering.

The advantages of a synthetic filling (for the arms, sides and hood)

Synthetic filling (wadding) is an effective alternative to feathers:
- it provides good thermal insulation even when wet
- it provides a little breathability and may be recommended for dynamic activity (down is recommended for static or moderate activity)

Care instructions for a down jacket with down and feathers

The down jacket can be worn throughout the winter and will certainly need to be washed. Follow our tips by clicking the link below:
How to wash and dry your down jacket ?

In the event of rain

This down jacket fabric is water-repellent. It allows drops of water to roll over the fabric, which means it takes longer for water to penetrate the jacket, giving you time to get to shelter. But the jacket is not waterproof. We therefore recommend that you wear a waterproof jacket over your down jacket in case of prolonged exposure to rain.

Note regarding the light colour versions

The X-Light down jacket is made with a fine fabric in order to make it lightweight and compact. Please note that the feathers are slightly visible through the fabric of the lightest jackets.

OUR COMMITMENTS
All our quilted jackets have been laboratory tested on thermal mannequins in 5 km/h winds, reproducing a hike with moderate exertion. This allows you to make the best choice by comparing the degree of thermal insulation on a scale of 1 to 5.
Test Product Thermal chamber test It allows us to check our design choices. We reproduce the temperature, wind and humidity conditions that you encounter in the mountains. In this way we can adapt our thermal insulation where you most need it. Feather impermeability test We use a test machine to ensure that the feathers do not escape from your jacket during your activities. Our fabrics are thus "featherproof" and so ensure lasting warmth.
