TECHNICAL INFORMATION
2016 INNOVATION

X-Light is the number 1 TECHNOLOGY (Body mapping) available in 2 MODELS: X-light 1 and X-Light 2. Available in 7 colours providing you with plenty of choice.

Puffing capacity of down / feather lining

For this down jacket filled 75/25, the inflating power of the down/feather is guaranteed to be greater than or equal to 540 CUIN. The fill power is a measure of the down's thermal insulation capacity and its potential to "trap" air. Down with higher fill power takes up more space, trapping more air and providing greater thermal insulation.

The advantages of down filling and duck feathers * (for the back and front of the down jacket)

The swelling and durability of the down gives it 3 qualities for hiking:
- Thermal insulation thanks to the air trapped in the down and the feathers
- Ultra lightness: down is lighter than synthetic wadding while offering the same degree of warmth. This saves weight in the backpack
- Ultra compressibility

* Our feathers come from Chinese ducks raised for their meat, we recover their feathers after slaughter.

The advantages of synthetic down filling (for the arms, sides and hood)

The synthetic down (wadding) provides an interesting alternative to the feather:
- it provides good thermal insulation even when wet
- it provides a little breathability and may be recommended for dynamic activity (down is recommended for static or moderate activity).

Care instructions for a down jacket with down and feathers

The down jacket is going to be worn all year and will certainly need to be washed. Follow our advice by clicking on the link below:

In case of rain

The material of this down jacket is water repellent. It allows the drops of water to roll on the fabric which delays the penetration of the water in the down jacket, time for you to get to shelter. But the down jacket is not waterproof. We recommend that you wear a waterproof jacket above the down jacket in case of prolonged exposure to rain.

Note regarding the light colour versions

The X-Light down jacket is made with a fine fabric in order to make it lightweight and compact. Please note that the feathers are slightly visible through the fabric of the red colour version of the range.

OUR COMMITMENTS
All our down jackets have been tested in the laboratory on thermal dummy by 5km / h of wind, reproducing a hike with moderate effort. This allows you to make the most appropriate choice by comparing their level of thermal insulation on a scale of 1 to 5.
Test Product Thermal chamber test It validates our design choices. We reproduce the temperature, wind and humidity conditions that you encounter in the mountains. In this way we can adapt our thermal insulation where you most need it. Feather impermeability test We use a test machine to ensure that the feathers do not escape from your jacket during your activities. So our fabrics are "sealed" with the feathers to ensure a lasting heat.
