Technical Information

Experience

The Head Super JOY will delight advanced skiers who want a precise and grippy on-piste ski no matter what the snow is like. Made from Graphene and a Karuba wood core, this ski is lightweight, reducing tiredness when skiing.

Construction

Karuba wood core combined with graphene. LYT tech construction Era 3.0.

Bindings

Tyrolia bindings, Joy 11 GW SLR model. Din 3 to 11. Grip Walk compatible. Fits ski boots with sole length between 255mm and 338mm.

Preparation

Waxed and sharpened skis, ready to use. Edge sharpened to 89°.

WHAT IS CAMBER?

When placing a ski on the ground, its points of contact are found near the tip and tail, whereas the middle of the ski (under the bindings) is slightly raised. This is the camber. The longer and higher the camber, the greater the grip and more responsive the ski. The lower the camber, the more tolerant and manageable the ski.

WHAT IS A ROCKER?

On a "rocker" ski, the tip, and sometimes the heel, comes off the ground much sooner than with a cambered ski: this has the effect of moving the contact points toward the centre of the ski. The surface of the ski in contact with the snow is shortened and offers manoeuvrability and lift in soft snow. When taking corners, the edge length provides more grip on hard snow. The longer the rocker, the better the handling of the ski.

SIDECUT

129/75/108 in 163cm, radius = 12.2m

Our after-skiing advice

After a long day of skiing, this is what you need to do to guarantee your ski's long life:
* Wipe your edges with a rag at the end of the day to prevent rusting.
* Use ski ties to prevent the soles from rubbing against each other.
* Store your skis in a dry place, away from sunlight.
