TECHNICAL INFORMATION

Resistant materials

This polyamide fabric uses 20 denier thread, and withstands 20,000 abrasion cycles.
Martindale Test, Standard 12 947-2
Outer: 100% polyamide 39 g/m2, 20 denier
Lining: 100% polyamide 35 g/m2, a blend of 15 and 20 denier yarns

Thermal insulation

This down jacket has been certified for a comfort temperature of -6° during a standardised test in a thermal chamber.
The mannequin wears a synthetic long-sleeved t-shirt and a light fleece underneath. It works with a simulated 5 km/h wind.
In our heat comparison tool, it represents 2 stars.

Technical information on the wadding

We use 100% polyester wadding (70% recycled) at 100g/sqm on the body and 80g/sqm on the sleeves and hood.
The wadding is made from silicon-coated spiral fibres that make it highly compressible and highly durable.
Despite its thin design, it is highly insulating thanks to the air trapped inside and it remains low weight.
It remains warm even when wet.

Do you know why the inner lining of your down jacket is grey?

Because the fabric we use reduces CO2 emissions by 40%.
The fabric used is innovative because it mixes a self-dyed black thread and an undyed thread.
Compared with a classic dye, this process reduces by:
• 66% fine particle emissions (PM2.5)
• 74% eutrophication of fresh water
• 68% eutrophication of marine water

Additional sustainable development information

On the Trek 100 black and grey models, the outer fabric uses a clean dying process known as dope dying (the thread is self-dyed), reducing CO2 emissions by 36%.

Water repellent property of the component (not to be confused with the waterproofing)

A fabric's water repellent property is its capacity to make water run off its surface without seeping in. This prevents the fabric from soaking up water keeping it lightweight and warm. A fabric becomes water repellent by applying a treatment to its outer surface. This treatment must be renewed throughout the garment's lifetime (recommended after every wash). Products are available for this purpose in our stores.
