Space

Length of the bedroom 215 cm
Width of the bedroom 180 cm at the head and 140 cm at the feet
Height of the bedroom 95 cm
The large front porch (storage space between the bedroom and the flysheet) is 100 cm deep and 190 cm wide, more or less 2 m² offering a large storage and living space. Sheltered from bad weather, this can be used to store 3 backpacks with 50 to 70 L volume approximately, and to store and organise your bivouacking equipment.
3 pockets in the bedroom.

Structure, poles and pegs

Lightweight, shock and frost resistant aluminium pole: 7001 T6 Yunan SD70PF Ø 9 mm and Ø 9.5 mm aluminium.
Optimised square tent pegs: “anvil” head, oversized main part, extremely resistant and lightweight (7075 T6 aluminium). Non-anodised for a lower environmental impact.
The two tent poles form a tunnel that is not free-standing. This structure forms a very light tent that needs to be fixed to the ground and does not stay up alone.

Pitching/dismantling

Extremely quick to pitch and dismantle. Pre-assembled flysheet and bedroom. Insert the tent poles into the flysheet cover. It’s also quick to dismantle.
To store the tent in its bag, fold the tent in half to about the length of the bag, fold up the poles into a bundle onto the bedroom or flysheet, roll everything up tightly to slide into the bag.

Waterproofing

Forclaz tents are laboratory-tested: pitched tent, 200 litres/m²/hour (4 hours, equivalent to a tropical storm). They are also tested in the field by a sample user group.
20 denier polyester (PES) flysheet and 40D polyamide (PA) groundsheet have a polyurethane coating (inside) and silicone (exterior).
Seams sealed with thermo-bonded strips.
Multi-component bedroom combining breathability, wind protection and prevents condensation

Wind resistance

We test all our tents in a wind tunnel on a turntable where we can expose each side of the tent to the wind.
To guarantee its wind resistance, the tent must be properly pitched, taut but not stretched, with all the guy ropes in position around the tent. It should remain habitable at wind speeds of 70km/h, measured near ground level.
Our tents are certified by the CSTB independent laboratory in Nantes.

Ventilation and condensation prevention

Bedroom with mosquito net sections for ventilation and water-repellent fabric sections to protect from condensation and draughts. There is good ventilation at the front of the tent as well as ventilation at the feet.
To limit condensation inside the tent, it must be correctly assembled, canvas taut, but not excessively so. The use of ventilation and good air circulation limits the humidity inside.

Seasons

3 seasons tent: your tent will protect you from difficult weather conditions that you may encounter in spring, summer or autumn. The tent will withstand light snowfall but is not designed for heavy loads that would weigh on its structure.
When it snows, shake your tent regularly to make the snow fall to the ground and avoid too much weight being supported by your tent’s structure.

Eco-designed tent

The poles are coloured using an innovative anodising method which eliminates the use of nitric and phosphoric acids.
Non-anodised tent pegs:
Your tent pegs may have a “rough” or “used” appearance but they still have all their technical and resistant features; not coloured or anodised (no acid is used since this only has an aesthetic effect).
These factors help to limit the environmental impact of your product.

Repair and after-sales service

As designers and users who love our field, we care about the durability of our products, which is why all our tents are designed to be repairable.
You will find the detachable parts (poles, bedroom, etc.) in store or in the workshop of your local Decathlon, on the website or at the address support.decathlon.fr
If you have a problem, don't hesitate to have your tent looked at in your local Decathlon store.

Our commitments

This tent has been tested and validated in the field in real-life conditions. It was used for 5 weeks by several people who went trekking in the Canary Islands for 2 weeks, followed by 3 weeks on the GR10 route in the Pyrenees. It was also tested by Tom and Alex for almost 18 months in Asia and Oceania.
Test Product Waterproof testing of Quechua tents takes place with the tent assembled, under 200 litres of water/m²/hour (tropical rain) for 4 hours, excluding water entering through seams, flaps, openings, zips, etc. The water column test (=mm Schmerbers) measures the waterproof rating of the fabric. Wind resistance: tents are set up in a wind tunnel on a turntable to expose each side of the tent to the wind. We also carry out numerous field tests in real-life conditions.
Guarantee : 2 years. All our tents are repairable. Parts and information in store or on the website.
