TECHNICAL INFORMATION

How to choose your Swiss Ball

- Size S: you are up to 1.65 m tall, for an average diameter ball of 55 cm
- Size M: you are between 1.65 and 1.85 m tall, for an average diameter ball of 65 cm
- Size L: You are over 1.85m tall, for an average ball diameter of 75 cm (size recommended for an office chair)

How do you inflate it to the right size?

When you pump up your ball for the first time, don't be afraid to over-inflate it.
Sit on it and adjust the inflation level (by slightly deflating it, if needed) to adjust the ball to your height. Your knees should be at the same height as your hips, or slightly lower. If using it as an office chair, be sure your knees are 10cm under your desk.
You can inflate your ball using a Swiss Ball pump (sold separately).

How do I inflate my Swiss Ball for the first time?

Inflate your Swiss Ball to the maximum. Plug the air hole with your finger while holding the cover in your other hand. Sit on it and adjust it to your height. Your knees, bent at 90°, should be level with your hips or slightly higher. If needed, you can slowly inflate or deflate it. Once you're at the right height, put the cover in the air hole.

Recommendations for use

The ball can deflate slightly after several uses. This is due to the manufacturing process. If you encounter this problem, we recommend wetting the cap with soapy water. Once inserted, the cap will create suction and stop the air from escaping.

The team's tip

We've swapped our office chairs for a Swiss Ball.
The result: we've been working our abs and strengthening our backs each day, (almost) without realising it.In this case, feel free to adjust ball inflation in relation to your desk height. Your forearms should be horizontal, with an elbow angle slightly greater than 90°.

What is proprioception?

Proprioception is your ability to perceive where your body is in space, whether consciously or not. It uses numerous receptors that tell your brain what position your various body parts are in. It affects your balance and reflexes. By doing regular exercise, you will improve your proprioception, gain mobility and reduce the risk of injury.

Did you know?

The Swiss Ball was originally created in 1963 by an Italian manufacturer, and was later used by a physiotherapist named Suzanne Klein based in Switzerland, which it where it got its name.
The Swiss ball was originally designed for medical use, especially for treating back conditions, orthopaedic conditions, and neurological disorders.

How do you choose a Swiss Ball during pregnancy?

You're waiting for a happy event and you don't know which Swiss Ball to choose.
You should know that your choice of ball can vary: as your baby grows, you will gain weight and your ball will shrink down.
Seated on the ball, your bent legs should form a right angle. As your pregnancy advances, we recommend re-inflating it with the pump as often as necessary.
