Made from varnished maple wood, the Olaian 500 skimboard is designed for regular skimboarders – teenagers and adults weighing 40–75 kg – who are looking to make progress and attempt tricks in the water. Its firm shape and weight provides good stability and enables you to glide further, while the pre-formed tail ensures an easy launch.

Technical Information

CONDITIONS OF USE.

This skimboard is designed for skimboarders who want to progress, start attempting tricks and get into the waves/foam.
It should be used on a thin layer of water and/or in small shore break (waves that break on the shore).
Avoid very windy days.
Avoid rocky areas.

PRECAUTIONS FOR USE.

Take care, falls are common when skimboarding. Warm up your wrists and ankles before you start. Wax the deck to avoid slipping.
Use the board in a very flat and open area (watch out for swimmers).

HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT SKIMBOARD SIZE.

The size of the skimboard directly influences its stability and handling. It must be adapted to the user's size. This skimboard is suitable for teenagers and adults weight between 40 and 75 kg, and 1m40 to 1m80 tall, from 14 years and up.

RESTRICTIONS OF USE.

Do not use in areas reserved for swimming. Not suitable for those over 1m90.

Directions for use.PART 1.

1) Throw: Practise throwing your board as straight as possible on a thin film of water.
2) Run: Start running with the board in your hand, throw your board and then sprint to jump on it. Your last steps must be as fast as possible.

Directions for use.PART 2.

3) Jump: Jump on your board as gently as possible. Your feet should be on the centre line of the board. These key tips will give you the best ride possible.
4) Ride: Keep your knees bent to lower your centre of gravity, this will make you more stable so that you glide as far as possible.
5) First tricks: Once you have mastered gliding along, try putting your hand on the ground to spin yourself around!

HOW TO CATCH A WAVE WITH THIS PRODUCT.
PART 1.

This product is designed to help you catch your first little waves. To do this, make sure you have fully understood the directions for use, find a beach with small green or broken waves breaking on the shore and then follow these tips:
1) Throw your board at an angle to the wave, run and then jump onto it.

2) As the wave approaches, bend your knees and press down with your toes or heels to begin your turn towards the beach.
3) The most important things are speed and timing.
