TECHNICAL INFORMATION

Construction

Spaceframe 3.0 FR: a 3D inverted wood core + a linen carbon insert and a power transfer platform.
Integrated 360° sandwich construction with ABS edges along entire length.
3D inverted wood core: internal machined wood core

Bindings

Salomon bindings, Warden11 Din 3.5 to 11.
Toe height adjustable and with a sliding anti-friction device (AFD), these bindings are compatible with alpine and touring boot standards.
The WARDEN 11 has a wide toe and an mounting configuration that improves ski handling compared to traditional bindings.
Made for boots between 262mm and 382mm in length.

Durability

Hybrid cap construction to avoid chipping when skis cross over.
Mostly black soles for easier repair.

Preparation

Waxed and sharpened skis, ready for use. Edges sharpened to 89°.

What is a camber?

When placing a ski on the ground, its points of contact are found near the nose and tail, whereas the middle of the ski (under the bindings) is slightly raised (this is the camber). The longer and higher the camber, the greater the edge grip and more responsive the ski. The lower the camber, the more forgiving the ski and the better the handling it has.

What is a rocker?

On a "rocker" ski, the tip – and sometimes the tail – comes off the ground much sooner than with a cambered ski. This shifts the points of contact towards the centre of the ski. The surface of the ski in contact with the snow is smaller: this makes the ski easier to handle and more buoyant on soft snow. When taking corners, the edge length offers more edge grip on hard snow. The longer the rocker, the more manageable your ski.

What are ski sidecuts?

The sidecuts have 3 sides, the width of the tip (front of ski), the skate (middle of ski) and the heel (back of ski). The wider the tip, the easier it is to enter turns. The slimmer the skate, the more tenacious the ski is on hard snow. The wider the skate, the more comfortable and stable the ski is in changing snow conditions. The wider the heel, the more involved the ski is in turns. The slimmer the heel, the easier it slides.

C/FX

Exclusive layer of prepreg fibre made up of interwoven carbon and linen fibres. This runs the entire length of the ski. Carbon fibre creates a ski that is incredibly solid and very light (stability and reinforcement), with increased shock and vibration absorption that is substantially superior to current light and traditional carbon constructions. This system is exclusively patented by Salomon.
