Additional recommended products

"Rain-Cut Pant" overtrousers protect the lower body and provide comprehensive, highly-effective protection from the wind and rain showers. Care products: waterproof spray or liquid in the machine, to renew the fabric's water repellent properties and optimise performance throughout the lifetime of your garment.

Component waterproofing

We test a fabric's resistance to water pressure by measuring the height of a column of water supported by the fabric in mm (test based on the ISO 811 standard). The better the fabric resists pressure, the more waterproof it is. A component with a waterproof rating of 2000 mm can withstand the pressure exerted by a 2000 mm column of water (the equivalent of a 2-hour downpour approximately).

Water-repellent component

A fabric is water repellent when water slides over its surface without seeping in. This prevents the fabric from soaking up water, and keeps it lightweight and warm. A fabric becomes water repellent by applying a treatment to its outer surface. This treatment must be restored throughout the garment's lifetime (after every wash). Water repellent treatment products available in our storesAll the Quechua waterproof jackets have received a water repellent treatment.

A score for comparing the environmental impact of the products

The product's environmental impact is calculated over its entire life cycle using different indicators. A general ABCDE rating is attributed to help you identify the products with the best environmental performance by comparing the products to each other (t-shirts, trousers, backpacks, etc). Decathlon is committed to displaying environmental information. For more information:

Component breathability

To find out whether a fabric is breathable, we test its evaporative resistance or RET (based on the ISO 11092 standard).
The lower the fabric's resistance, the more water vapour generated by physical activity can escape, and the higher the fabric's breathability. For example: RET < 9 = extremely breathable fabric / 920 = little or no breathability.
