Waterproofing

Quechua tents are validated in the laboratory (tent mounted under 200 litres/metre² per hour for 4 hours, the equivalent of a tropical rainfall), as well as in field test missions.
75 Denier Polyester (PE) flysheet, polyurethane coated (Interior) water repellent treatment (exterior), PE 75D ground sheet.
Seams sealed with heat-sealed strips.
Room in PE 66D breathable and water-repellent, partly made of mosquito net, to avoid contact with condensation drops.

Wind resistance

We test all our tents in a wind tunnel on a rotating platform where we can expose each side of the tent to the wind.
To test its wind resistance, the tent must be properly pitched, taut but not too tight, with all the guy ropes in position around the tent. It should remain habitable at wind speeds of 70km/h, measured near ground level.

Ventilation and condensation prevention

Bedroom with mosquito net sections for ventilation and sections in a water repellent fabric to protect from condensation and draughts. Large vent at front of tent's fly sheet and additional vent at feet end.
To reduce condensation inside your tent, it must be properly pitched, with the fabric kept taut without over-stretching. The air vents and good air flow reduce humidity inside your tent.

Sun protection

The flysheet fabric filters UV rays with a UPF of 30.
Please note: a large amount of UV rays can pass through an open door.
Protect your skin.

OUR COMMITMENTS
Test Product The waterproofing of Quechua tents is tested by placing a pitched tent under a 200 L/m²/hr shower (tropical rain) for 4 hours and checking that no water gets through the seams, flaps, openings, zips, etc. The water column test (= mm schmerbers) measures the waterproof rating of the fabric. Wind resistance: tents are set up in a wind tunnel on a rotating platform to expose each side of the tent to the wind. We also carry out numerous field tests in real-life conditions.
Guarantee : 2 years. All our tents are repairable. Parts and information in store or on decathlon.fr
