- What are the advantages of the side zips on these waterproof over-trousers?The use of a watertight zip fitted with a dual slide allows you to: - Easily put on over-trousers without having to remove your boots, - Regulate your body temperature. Press studs at the waist and ankles offer a better fit in line with your body shape.
- What features ensure adherence of the over-trousers over your boots to hold them in place?- The bottom of the trouser leg has an elastic strip with silicone inside to improve grip on the boot. - A hook at the bottom of each leg allows you to attach it to the laces of the boot to prevent the over-trousers from riding up while walking.
- How waterproof are these over-trousers?The water resistance of a fabric, ensured by a coating or a membrane, is measured in Schmerber or mm of water (pressure exerted by a column of water). This jacket has two waterproof components (norm JIS L 1092): - The main fabric is highly waterproof. It can withstand 20,000 mm of water (Schmerber rating) before washing, - The secondary fabric is at thigh level and can withstand 20,000 mm of water (Schmerber rating) before washing.
- What is the breathability rating of the components?To know if a fabric is breathable, we test its evaporative resistance or RET (based on the ISO 1099 B1 standard)The lower the fabric's resistance, the more water vapour generated by physical activity evaporates & the higher the fabric's breathability It is considered that if: - RET < 9 = highly breathable fab. - 9 < RET < 12 = breathable fab. Here are the breathability values of the over-trousers: - RET < 8 for the main fab. (the lightest) - RET < 12 for the secondary fab. (the most durable)
- How do you care for your waterproof over-trousers to make them more durable?If your over-trousers need washing, here’s the process to follow: - Choose a washing detergent suitable for technical clothing. - Machine wash at 30°C max. Do not wash your garment at the same time as other clothes that may be very dirty. - Tumble dry (10 minutes at low temperature), or air dry. - Once dry, use a water-repellency reactivator spray.
