HOW DO WE MEASURE THE VOLUME OF BAGS?
The volume of each backpack is measured using a standardised method: we fill the main compartment, as well as each pocket, with small balls. We then empty the balls into a container with markings on the side, which tells us the equivalent volume in litres.
HOW TO ADJUST YOUR BACKPACK
1 - Loosen all the straps (shoulder, waist, chest). 2 - Put the backpack on. 3 - For 50 L bags or bigger, place the waist strap over your hips (it should cover the top of your hip bones) and tighten it. For smaller bags, the waist strap should sit around your waist. 4 - Tighten the shoulder straps. 5 - Adjust the chest straps until comfortable.
HOW TO FILL YOUR BAG
Place your bedding at the bottom of the bag. Heavier equipment should go closer to your back. Pack your clothing around this. Keep a waterproof jacket and/or fleece within easy reach. Use the pockets for small bits and bobs that you'll need during the day (sun cream, map, sunglasses, etc.). Your water bladder goes in the special compartment down the back.
