All our WEDZE products are thoroughly tested in real-life conditions, first at our lab near Chamonix, then on the mountain.
Rigorous mountain tests
To perfect these skis, once our WEDZE Design and Development Team were happy, we gave them to 30 freestylers over 45 days during the 2019/2020 winter season. Our testers were instructed to take them through powder, pistes, parks, back and side country, paying special attention to flex, handling, pop and edge-feel.
Choosing the perfect skis
It can be simplified into 3 criteria: skiing discipline, ability and skier morphology. First, what type of skiing do you want to do: downhill, freeride, freestyle, or touring? If it’s all of the above, consider all-mountain skis. Then your skiing level – for beginners, it is best to have skis that are easily manoeuvrable, advanced skiers trade that manoeuvrability for precision and power. Finally, your morphology matters. For example, taller and heavier people need longer and wider skis.
Adjusting your bindings
Correctly adjusted bindings are as essential as a good helmet for a great day of skiing. If they’re poorly adjusted, it can lead to injury and a ruined holiday! Your bindings should be calibrated to your height, weight, age, skiing ability and foot size. If you are unsure about adjusting your bindings, always speak to a professional.
Storing your skis
At the end of each day, towel off any excess moisture and leave them in a well ventilated space to dry. Once dry, clean them with a microfibre cloth and keep them upright in an area without temperature variations or humidity. At the end of the season, clean your skis, wax them, then store them upright in a clean and dry storage bag, in an area protected from humidity and temperature variations. To respect their camber, avoid binding your skis too tightly together.
