- Why is the fabric weight of the Kids' Judo Aikido Uniform 500 important?Judo is a grappling sport where you try to grab and throw your opponent. That is to say that your uniform is put through its paces. The fabric needs to be highly durable and thick enough to withstand an opponent's grip. Fabric weight determines a uniform's durability: the higher it is, the more durable the fabric. With its weight of 350 g/m² and reinforcement on the shoulders, knees, and collar, this uniform is recommended for kids involved in competition.
- How does the cut of the Kids' Judo Aikido Uniform 500 affect freedom of movement?Your child should feel comfortable in their uniform for the best possible experience practising judo. That is why the cut is important. A too-tight uniform can limit their movements and affect their performance. On the other hand, a too-loose uniform could get in the way of your child's movements and techniques. The loose fits of our uniforms have been designed to provide just the freedom of movement they need for a better training experience.
- What sizes are available for the Kids' Judo Aikido Uniform 500?Our kids' uniforms are available from 120 cm to 150 cm.
- Which size uniform should you get?Since they contain cotton, uniforms naturally tend to shrink by a few centimetres over the first three washes. So we recommend choosing a judo uniform that is 5 to 10 cm longer than the size of the judoka who will be wearing it. If, for example, your child is 133 cm tall, choose a 140 cm uniform to anticipate shrinkage.
- Whether a beginner or an advanced judoka, what uniform should you choose?Depending on their practice, a child could pick a uniform that is: - 100% cotton twill (220 g/m²) that is both flexible and durable for beginning judo; - rice grain style, if they've practised for at least 2 years (yellow or orange belt) or are beginning competition. It is extremely resistant to pulling when in holds. Made of a polyester-cotton blend (350 g/m²), it also withstands shrinkage and drying. Perfect for the more frequent washing between training and competitions.
- Caring for the Kids' Judo Aikido Uniform 500We suggest airing out your uniform after every use. To keep it white, be sure to wash it regularly. One pointer? Wash on a cold wash for the first few times. After that, don't exceed 30°C. When you dry it, it's best to let it air dry and avoid using the dryer.
