- Inflating/deflating the surface markerThe surface marker buoy can be inflated in three ways: Typically, from below, with your mouth, or with a direct system hose using the inflater. It is, thus, inflatable on the surface. Once inflated, the air is completely trapped. This allows it to always remain completely inflated. It is equipped with a pressure relief valve to let air out in case of overpressure, i.e. if it is too inflated, especially at depth. This valve also allows the surface marker to be deflated.
