Sailing Sunglasses

Sailing sunglasses, the essential accessory for sailors

Even more than on land, it is fundamental to equip yourself with a pair of high-performance sunglasses when sailing at sea. This is indeed the best way to protect your eyes from the sun's harmful rays. In addition to being true fashion accessories, the sailing sunglasses Tribord are nonetheless extremely effective and provide you with comfort and safety during your coastal or offshore sailing. The polarized category 3 lenses used by Tribord engineers make these products true allies for all your boating.

The waterproof backpack is a must-have for carrying your gear while keeping it dry!

Category 3 lenses for better efficiency

To make your cruises or regattas fun, it's essential to see well. Once on board, wearing sunglasses is therefore absolutely essential, both in terms of comfort and safety. Throughout your outing, whether it's a bright sunny day or more overcast, UV rays assault your eyes, either directly or indirectly via reflection off the water and the hull of your boat. Without quality glasses, you will be dazzled and will not be able to sail in optimal conditions. Moreover, over the long term, such exposure can have irreversible consequences on your eyes.

To protect you in the best possible way, the Decathlon mixed boat sunglasses are therefore equipped with 100% anti UV tinted category 3 lenses. There are actually five categories of glasses. Categories 0 and 1 are thus suitable for low light, while category 2 is suitable for medium light. Category 3, the one of Tribord sports glasses, meets the needs in case of strong luminosity. Finally, category 4 is more suitable for high-altitude activities.

For boating, category 3 lenses are therefore the most appropriate. They absorb between 82 and 92% of light and are therefore very versatile. They will protect you from the sun's rays while allowing you to sail comfortably when the clouds appear. Our design teams also chose to use gray lenses. This choice is particularly important insofar as gray does not distort the reality of the colors and offers you the most natural vision there is.

Polarized lenses for boat sunglasses, an essential?

In order for your sailing sunglasses to perfectly meet your needs, they absolutely must be equipped with polarized lenses. Indeed, the reflection of light rays on flat surfaces such as a body of water considerably alters the vision. The polarized sunglasses therefore respond to this problem insofar as they block this phenomenon and allow you to better distinguish reliefs, perspectives and contrasts.

In addition to reducing eye fatigue, Tribord sailing sunglasses offer you greater comfort in terms of visibility on the water. The polarizing treatment helps filter out glare and therefore helps you strain your eyes less. On the other hand, it reduces the readability comfort of LCD screens such as those of your GPS or smartphone.

A frame thought to protect you as much as possible from the sun's rays

Whether it is direct or reflected, light can reach your eyes from the front or from the sides. While the lenses of your boat sunglassesTribord play an essential role in protecting you, the frame should not be overlooked. The latter is indeed just as important in the sense that it must be sufficiently covering to fully preserve your eyes. TheTribord sunglasses for men and women therefore have a curved, wraparound shape to best protect your eyes from UV rays, but also from water splashes and bad weather. Whatever your position on board your boat, their covering frame will protect you from aggressions coming from the front or from the sides.

To protect yourself from the sun's rays, you may prefer a sailing cap or a bob!
