Seal the zip locks as tightly as you can manage. Some zippers may need a little flexing to work optimally so try opening and closing them a few times. If you think the zipper could be tighter, a tip for some is to use a hard surface like a table or wall to place it on and then push down with your thumbs on the zippers.
Then tightly seal and away you go!
