Did you know that this TRAVEL 100 3-in-1 JACKET is eco-designed?
Our design choices reduce our CO02 emissions by 18% compared to the previous model thanks to these actions :
- The main material on this jacket is made from 100% recycled polyamide.
- The mesh inside of the jacket is made from 100% recycled polyester and uses mass dyeing known as "dope dyeing", that involves adding all the colour pigments when the yarn is manufactured to avoid dye baths.
- The lining on the sleeves and the fleece are made from 100% recycled polyester.
Focus on recycled polyester from bottles
By recycling plastic bottles and used textiles to produce our polyester, we reduce the use of petroleum resources while preserving the qualities and performance of the material for your outings.
The fleece uses a CO2 dyeing process in order to save water.
Durable thanks to good abrasion resistance...
We conduct laboratory tests on our fabrics, according to different criteria.
Resistance to abrasion, to replicate the rubbing of the backpack's straps.
We conduct a standardised Martindale test, which rubs the jacket's fabric against another fabric. The aim is to control the wear limits of the fabric and when pilling begins. The jacket passes the test easily as it reaches 20,000 cycles on the Martindale, above the average for other jackets on the market.
... as well as provide good tear resistance.
The jacket was also subjected to single rip tearing tests. The aim is to reproduce in a laboratory the effect of your jacket snagging on something outdoors and being ripped. Using this test protocol, we check that the fabric doesn't rip any further after a hole is made in the fabric, so that it can still protect you for years to come.
A score for comparing products' environmental impact
The environmental impact of the product is calculated based on its entire life cycle and using different indicators. A general score from A to E is provided to help you easily identify the most eco-friendly products by comparing products of the same type (T-shirts, trousers, backpacks, etc).
Decathlon is committed to displaying this environmental information. For more info: http://sustainability.decathlon.com/
3-in-1 concept for adapting to every situation
With the "3-in-1" system, the jacket will be ideal for cold conditions (down to -0°C) and for hot weather trips, because you can leave the inner layer at home and wear the rain jacket by itself.
You can also wear the inner fleece on its own as a mid layer over a T-shirt.
With just one jacket, you therefore get 3 options!
