All our WEDZE products are thoroughly tested in real-life conditions, first at our lab near Chamonix, then on the mountain.
Testing on the mountain
To ensure our products perform in the real world, after thorough lab tests, we give them to our team of professional testers to put them through their paces in all weather conditions across the mountain. Our WEDZE jackets are tested for waterproofing, breathability, ease of movement and warmth.
Waterproofing tests
To make sure our products’ fabric, zips and seam sealings are waterproof, we put them through a shower test under 100L of water for 3 hours. This test is used to reproduce the conditions of a heavy mountain storm.
Breathability tests
To determine a product’s breathability, we test its evaporative resistance or RET (based on the ISO 11092 standard). The lower the fabric’s resistance, the more water vapour generated by physical activity can escape and the higher the fabric’s breathability.
