Design details
Check your Easybreath mask before use
Before each use, check your Easybreath and, in particular, your child's Easybreath.
- Grasp the snorkel in your hand and move it from left to right. The ball bearing should follow the movement without restriction.
- Check that the seal is present and in the correct position
- Check that all of the valves are present, and that they're free of deformation and are flush against their support
- The skirt should perfectly fit to the mask
- Never use the mask without the snorkel
What if my mask is fogging up?
If it fogs up over your eyes, we recommend repeating the 4 steps set out above, properly repositioning your Easybreath mask, and checking that the size of your Easybreath is correctly fitted to your face. If the issue continues, do not use the mask and contact your closest Decathlon store.
Snorkelling safety
Snorkelling is an easy and fun activity for all the family! Breathing through a snorkel is more physically demanding than regular swimming. If you feel tired, short of breath or dizzy, remove your mask and snorkel and get out of the water.
The use of this product is not recommended if you have cardiovascular problems (chest infection, angina, asthma, high blood pressure, heart disease, etc.). Consult your doctor if in doubt
What is the size of the Easybreath mask in the fins and Easybreath mask kit?
If you choose a fin size between 36/37 and 40/41, the mask is delivered in size S/M, for a size between 42/43 and 46/47, the mask is delivered in size M/L.
The Easybreath is available in 3 sizes which cover 90% of faces.
For kids aged 6 to 10 choose, the size XS.
From 10-year-olds and small faces opt for size S/M. For bigger faces use M/L.
What is the Easybreath?
The Easybreath 540 is the next generation full-face mask created by Decathlon.
It has the same characteristics as the old model: 180° vision, anti-fog, easy to put on, etc. and we have made the mask more robust, the skirt more comfortable, and breathing easier with the effort on breathing reduced by 20%. It is also equipped with innovations: a valve that allows communication on the surface and the ‘dry-top release’ that prevents the phenomenon of breathing being cut off during immersion.
How does the Easybreath work?
The fresh air is projected onto the glass before reaching the nose or mouth via the nasal valves. The constant supply of fresh air reduces the amount of fogging up in the mask.
The air packed with moisture and CO2 is evacuated through channels located inside the mask's rim, which leads this air into the snorkel. The air is constantly renewed. The flow of air going in and out are separated to avoid mixing in polluted air and allowing you to breathe fresh air.

Communication simplified at the surface!
The valve on the front of the mask allows for sound to diffuse properly and lets you communicate with your snorkelling partners even with a mask on your face!
Intelligibility was validated during tests up to a distance of 3 m.
Can I dive with my Easybreath 540?
The Easybreath 540 snorkelling mask is not adaptable for diving. The air volume in the Subea Easybreath mask is greater than that of other traditional diving masks. From just 1 m down, the pressure of the mask becomes very uncomfortable on your face. Furthermore, while freediving, it is necessary to decompress. With the Easybreath mask, this is impossible because the nose is inaccessible.
Why choose Easybreath over a traditional valve mask?
The Easybreath will be the preferred choice for those who have reservations about diving with a snorkel in their mouth or going deep. The Easybreath snorkelling mask is ideal for shallow aquatic activities. It allows natural nose-mouth breathing and has a large field of vision.
Can I wear the Easybreath 500 if I have a beard?
Beard hair prevents good contact between your skin and the skirt of the mask. The waterproof design cannot be guaranteed for users that have a beard. To guarantee a watertight seal, it is best to shave. Alternatively, using a thick balm such as Vaseline can also be a solution.
How does the dry-top system stop water from entering?
It was developed to stop water from getting into the snorkel when there is choppy water, small waves on the surface or when the user leans their head too far forward to observe the seabed. There is a float in the snorkel that rises when you dive and blocks the tube. After diving, remember to blow out when returning to the surface to make sure that the float descends.
Can I wear glasses with my Easybreath mask?
Most spectacle frames will prevent the mask from sealing properly by distorting the mask skirt. It is also complicated to use the Easybreath mask with glasses.
Subea designed corrective lenses that are attached to the inside of the mask with a suction cup. You can choose the correction of each glass screen (from -1 to -6) and put it together the way you like it.
What precautions should I take with my Easybreath 540 mask?
Pay attention to sand! Avoid letting your full-face snorkelling Easybreath 540 mask come into contact with sand as this can scratch the lens of the mask. If sand is present, do not use force to clip the snorkel into place. Rinse the snorkel and mask before connecting them. Sand can also clog the float valve inside the snorkel. Rinse the snorkel vigorously or use a key that you can fit through the rear vents of the snorkel to unblock the float valve, then rinse the snorkel.
Can my Easybreath 540 mask be repaired if it breaks?
YES, you can extend the lifespan of your Subea Easybreath mask! After-sales service is available from the Workshop in your Decathlon store. The changeable parts (strap, cover, snorkel, valves) are all available online or in store.
strap - 8316952, valve - 8363399, snorkel - 8506099, white cover - 8665853.
