SHIMANO REAR DERAILLEUR

The rear derailleur is the hard-working mechanism at the back of your bike that moves the chain from cog to cog on the cassette. At the front of your bike, the right-hand gear shifter on the handlebars pulls a cable (or uses electronic signals) to move the derailleur. In turn, that moves the chain onto the appropriate cog on the cassette.

A fundamental part of your drivetrain, it’s important your rear derailleur is compatible with the rest of your bike's components, and don’t forget to regularly check it’s in good shape. Otherwise, a replacement is in order. If you’re in the market for a rear derailleur, check out our Shimano rear derailleurs – one of our top brands.

SRAM REAR DERAILLEUR

Another best selling brand is SRAM. Their rear derailleurs are suitable for a range of speeds and bike types, from MTBs and urban bikes to hybrids and tourers. We also sell rear derailleurs by acclaimed brands such as Rockrider, BBB and our in-house Decathlon experts. Take your pick…

Looking for more than a rear derailleur? We have cranksetsthat translate pedal power into movement of the back wheel, bicycle chainsif yours are catching or have snapped, gear shiftersso you can ride more easily or quickly as terrain changes, andbike cassettes from big names like Shimano and SRAM.
