10-year warranty

Our commitment? To offer you long-lasting products that you can use on all your country walks. Because the products we like the most are those with a story behind them that is still continuing!

10-year warranty, conditions

The warranty covers all backpack defects except those caused by normal wear and tear and improper use. This special 10-year warranty is only valid with the product and sales receipt. If the product is covered by the warranty, it will be repaired or exchanged free of charge. This sales warranty does not affect the statutory rights applicable in your country and/or state.

How is the volume measured?

The volume of each backpack is measured using a standardised method: we fill the main compartment as well as each pocket with little balls. We then empty the balls into a graduated container which gives us the equivalent volume in litres.

How to adjust my backpack

1 - Loosen all the straps (straps, hip belt, load adjuster straps). 2 - Put the backpack on. 3 - For backpacks with a capacity of 50 L or more, place the waist belt on the hips (it should cover the hip bones) and tighten it. For smaller backpacks, the waist belt should be positioned around the waist. 4 - Tighten the shoulder straps. 5 - Adjust the load adjuster straps as needed.

How to fill my backpack

Place the bedding at the bottom. Place heavy gear (tent, camp stove, food) near your back. Pack your clothes around these items. Put the groundsheet under the flap with the tent under the backpack, if there is not enough space inside. Keep a waterproof jacket and/or fleece close at hand. Place small items that you will need during the day (e.g. sun cream, map, glasses, etc.) in the pockets. The water bladder must be placed in the compartment that is generally provided along the back.

Laboratory test

We conduct laboratory tests to validate the components: fabric, buckles, straps, foam and zips, etc. For example, for a fabric: resistance to abrasion, tearing, colour-fastness in UV light, washing, waterproofing, etc. A final test on the finished product simulates the kind of treatment to which it will be subjected over several years, to assess the strength of the assemblies: the backpack is loaded with weights and placed on a dummy that replicates thousands of fast walking movements.

Your opinion is important to us!

Thanks to all your feedback, we have improved the design and manufacture of the NH100 20L backpack.
In this new model, we have improved the main zip to make it easier to open. We have also added a compartment and a zipped pocket to the main pocket.

A score for comparing the products' environmental impact

The environmental impacts of the product are calculated over its entire life cycle using different indicators. A score from A to E is provided in order to easily identify the most eco-friendly products by comparing products of the same type (T-shirts, trousers, backpacks).
Decathlon is committed to displaying the environmental information of its products.

Test Product Our design team imagined, thought up and designed the Quechua products in France, at the foot of the Mont Blanc. We test them in the field with other hikers to make sure that they are comfortable and durable. Whether it is Brittany or Corsica, we visit as many locations as possible, in all weather conditions. These field tests involve lots of discussions, which are very useful in getting your feedback and planning our future collections!
