CrossContact is the Decathlon label that ensures our soles have good grip. To benefit from this the shoe must pass laboratory tests to evaluate the grip rating on different surfaces (Smooth, Rough, Dry, Wet). To validate these tests, we have the quality of our soles assessed over 500 km on the ground and in the mountains by a representative panel of testers

In laboratories, the shoe is placed in water up to mid-upper level, on a mechanical arm that simulates a number of steps. Thanks to this test, we can determine the number of km (x steps) that the shoe can make while remaining dry. Then we confirm in real conditions, in the field and under the rain, that the shoes meet expectations.

A boot's waterproofing is often undermined by water getting in from the top of the shoe. To keep your feet dry for longer, we recommend wearing waterproof gaiters or mini-gaiters to protect the top part of the boots and prevent water, pebbles, sand, etc. from getting inside. To restore the original water repellent properties and prevent staining the outer surface, spray with a waterproof spray several times per year.
