TECHNICAL INFORMATION

Sole grip

The sole design is the product of a lengthy research process conducted in our laboratories, which has been combined with a special rubber formulation to optimise grip and traction. Given the variety of different needs, we always seek the best compromise for walking on muddy and dry terrain.

Buying advice

Get your child to try on both shoes while standing up, with socks they would normally wear for hiking. Check two comfort points: the base of the heel and the front part of the foot going down. Avoid all pressure points when trying them on. Do not hesitate to get your child to walk with them. Gradually get your child to wear their shoes during your first few hiking trips to break them in.
On the internet, you can print the pedometer and check your child’s foot length.

What size should you choose?

For hiking, don’t hesitate to take one size above your usual shoe size to ensure optimal comfort going downhill and prevent your toes from hitting the front of the boot. Advice: before any descent, keep your nails clipped and check that your lacing prevents your foot from sliding towards the front of the boot.

Field test

The comfort of all our shoes is tested when trying them on and in use by typical users under the real-life conditions you will encounter in use. Our Mission Tests bring together the product manager with people who are not affiliated with Quechua to test, develop and approve the products.

Laboratory test

Other laboratory tests are also conducted to validate the following elements: tearing of the eyelets and straps, gluing, toxicology, UV resistance, abrasion of the sole and the components of the upper, accelerated ageing.
