Technical Information

The FIT 980 boot has a narrow fit (100 mm) and a flex of 130. It is ideal for those in search of speed and a precise hold. Also has a liner to ensure a decent level of comfort and warmth. It is a boot for someone in good physical shape and with a good technique.

This boot is equipped with 4 very strong micro-metric aluminium hooks. You can adjust the buckle length by screwing or unscrewing the hook. The top hook has 3 positions for every calf size. A wide strap for strong and easy closure at the top of the shell.

What is FLEX?

To provide an indication of rigidity, brands assign a flex rating to every boot. This figure determines the rigidity of the boot: the higher the figure, the stiffer the shell. A flex of 60 to 70 is designed for beginners. A flex from 70 to 100 is for intermediate skiers. Beyond this value, the products are aimed at advanced skiers. Well-built skiers can go up one level.

How do I know if the boot I'm trying on is the right size?

Once your foot is in the boot, fasten the buckles to the midpoint. Can you go further? This means the volume of the boot isn't right for you. Once you've fastened your boots, you need to flex 3 times while pushing your calves forward (put your hands on your knees), which will push your heel back into the boot. Stand up: your foot should touch the end of the shell. When you flex, your foot should move backwards so you can no longer feel the end.

What can I do in case of foot pain?

1- Choose a thin technical ski sock to avoid pressure points and promote blood circulation in the foot.
2- Choose an insole that suits the shape of your foot to prevent toes from getting crushed and pressing against the front of the shell. Ask for advice in-store.

How should I store my ski boots?

1- Air your boots by removing the liner inside the plastic shell.
2- Close the hooks at the first notch to prevent the boots from losing their shape and, if possible, store them in a case.
3- Keep them in a dry place if you can, and somewhere where the temperature will not drop below 10°C. The boot's plastic will thank you for it!
