Technical Information

Experience

The Atomic Redster X5 is suitable for intermediate skiers seeking a sporty on-piste ski. The wood and titanium construction results in a stable, safe and high performance ski for skiing on all low pistes at high speeds. The progressive radius enables you to choose a ski adapted to the way you ski (small to large turns).

CONSTRUCTION

Woodcore power: Wood core design, vertical side walls on the full length of the ski for better grip. Titanium stabiliser and structured topsheet for good durability.

BINDINGS

Atomic bindings, FT10 GW model. Din 3 to 10. GripWalk compatible .Fits ski boots with sole length between 257mm and 380mm.

Durability

Structured topsheet for improved durability.

PREPARATION

Waxed and sharpened skis, ready to use. Edge sharpened to 89°.

WHAT IS CAMBER?

When placing a ski on the ground, its points of contact are found near the tip and tail, whereas the middle of the ski (under the bindings) is slightly raised. This is the camber. The longer and higher the camber, the greater the grip and more responsive the ski. The lower the camber, the more tolerant and manageable the ski.

WHAT IS A ROCKER?

On a "rocker" ski, the tip, and sometimes the heel, comes off the ground much sooner than with a cambered ski: this has the effect of moving the contact points toward the centre of the ski. The surface of the ski in contact with the snow is shortened and offers manoeuvrability and lift in soft snow. When taking corners, the edge length provides more grip on hard snow. The longer the rocker, the better the handling of the ski.

SIDECUT

122/71/105 in 170 cm, radius = 14 m

Our after-skiing advice

After a long day of skiing, this is what you need to do to guarantee your ski's long life:
* Wipe your edges with a rag at the end of the day to prevent rusting.
* Use ski ties to prevent the soles from rubbing against each other.
* Store your skis in a dry place, away from sunlight.
