TECHNICAL INFORMATION

Construction

Polyurethane-injected skis, for a lighter weight and easier progression.

Bindings

Tyrolia SRM 4.5 binding, DIN 0.75 to 4.5. Fits A (adult) or C (children) type boots. The base length on the Wed'ze bindings can be adjusted in one quick movement at the heel piece, so the ski can fit different boot sizes. It's very easy to do and we recommend bringing your skis to one of our workshops to have it done. 97 cm/107 cm skis => boots between 200 mm and 260 mm. 117 cm skis => boots between 220 mm and 270 mm.

Durability

Plastic tip end and reinforced topsheet (from the more solid rental program). White colour for greater scratch resistance.

Preparation

Waxed and sharpened skis, ready to use. Edge sharpened at 89°.

What is a camber?

When placing a ski on the ground, its points of contact are found near the tip and heel, whereas the middle of the ski (under the bindings) is slightly raised (the camber). The longer and higher the camber, the greater the traction and more responsive the ski. The lower, the more tolerant and manageable it is.

What is a rocker?

On a rocker ski, the tip and sometimes the heel come off the ground sooner than with a cambered ski: this has the effect of moving the contact points toward the centre of the ski. The ski surface area in contact with snow is smaller, for better manageability and buoyancy on soft snow. When taking corners, the edge length offers more traction on hard snow. The longer the rocker, the more manageable your skis. The shorter it is, the more traction you'll have.
