TECHNICAL INFORMATION

How to adjust your walking poles?

Hold the poles with your arms bent at a right angle. To adjust them: unscrew the middle section, below the ring of the lower section. Make a note of the required pole size (in centimetres), and tighten firmly, but do not over-tighten; do the same with the lower section. NEVER GO BEYOND THE "STOP LINE", or the pole may break during use.

Recommendations for use

Before leaving: always check that your poles are properly tightened.
When going downhill, or when pushing hard in the mountains for example, you can adjust your poles to make them longer.
When climbing, use the wrist strap for support. When going downhill, it is advisable to remove the wrist strap so that the pole does not get in your way in the event of a fall.

Accessories

Screw-on summer basket (small diameter) provided.
Compatible with wider winter baskets.

OUR COMMITMENTS

Our field testers: all our poles are tested in use by the target users under the same conditions as they would experience in real-life use. In particular, our "Test Missions" bring together the product manager with people who are not affiliated with QUECHUA, to test, develop and validate the products.
Test Product Flexing and compression tests are conducted in the laboratory on the extended pole to verify its performance and resistance should the hiker lean on it heavily. Tests are also carried out to assess how the tightening systems cope with pulling, tightening and repeated stress, and pull tests on the tips and handles simulate poles getting stuck when in use.
