TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Fill Power of the down/feather filling For this down jacket filled 75/25, the inflating power of the down/feather is guaranteed to be greater than or equal to 540 CUIN. The fill power is a measure of the down's thermal insulation capacity and its potential to "trap" air. Down with higher fill power takes up more space, trapping more air and providing greater thermal insulation.
The advantages of a duck down and feather filling (for the back and front of the down jacket) The down's long-lasting fill power gives it 3 important qualities for hiking:
- Thermal insulation thanks to the air trapped in the down and feathers
- Ultra-low weight: down is lighter than synthetic wadding while offering the same degree of warmth. This saves even more weight in your backpack
- Ultra-compressible
Feather origin Thanks to our traceability system, we can guarantee the origin of the feathers, which are sourced in accordance with our commitments regarding responsible materials. Our suppliers are committed to using only feathers that come from ducks that are bred for their meat and which are plucked after slaughtering.

The advantages of a synthetic filling (for the arms, sides and hood) The synthetic wadding is an good alternative to feathers:
- it provides good thermal insulation even when wet
- it provides some breathability and is recommended for sports activities (down is recommended for static or moderate activity)
Care instructions for a jacket filled with down and feathers The down jacket can be worn throughout the winter and will certainly need to be washed. Follow our advice by clicking the link below:
How to wash and dry your down jacket ?
http://www.quechua.com/wash-your-down-jacket
In the event of rain This down jacket fabric is water-repellent. It makes water droplets run off the surface of the fabric, so that it takes longer for the water to get inside the jacket, giving you time to find some shelter. But the down jacket is not waterproof. We therefore recommend that you wear a waterproof jacket over your down jacket in case of prolonged exposure to rain.
Note regarding the lighter coloured versions The X-Light down jacket is made with a fine fabric in order to make it lightweight and compact. Please note that the feathers are slightly visible through the fabric of the lighter coloured jackets.
A score for comparing the environmental impact of the products The product's environmental impact is calculated over its entire life cycle using different indicators.
An overall ABCDE rating is given to help you easily identify the most eco-friendly products by comparing them with products of the same type (T-shirts, trousers, backpacks, etc.)
Decathlon is committed to visually displaying environmental information.

OUR COMMITMENTS
All our down jackets are laboratory tested in a 5 km/h wind, worn as a 3rd layer on a thermal dummy (over a long sleeved T-shirt and fleece). Their level of thermal insulation is measured on a scale of 1 to 5, so that you can choose the one that suits you best.
Test Product Temperature chamber test It is used to validate our design choices. We reproduce the temperature, wind and humidity conditions that you encounter in the mountains. In this way we put the thermal insulation where you most need it. Feather resistance test We use a test machine to ensure that the feathers cannot come through the fabric of your jacket during your activities. Our fabrics are therefore feather "resistant" to ensure lasting warmth.
