beginner snowboarders looking to begin snowboarding and those interested in freestyling whilst progressing. Supple torsion between feet for great tolerance to edge errors and great manageability. Twin Tip = symmetrical board with central bindings for ease of use in both directions.

Versatility 25% piste, 25% off-piste, 50% park.
Ease of handling Supple torsion, free foot movement: will enjoy jumps and modules.
Buoyancy Virtual reverse camber, great buoyancy on powder.
Traction Easy sliding (small standard camber and supple torsion).
Anatomic design 151 cm: 1.69 to 1.76 m
155 cm: 1.74 to 1.81 m
161W cm: 1.78 to 1.86 m
Rigidity Quite supple front and rear. Ideal for jumps at low speed.
Forgiveness Wide rocker and soft torsion to minimise edge errors.
Glide performance Extruded PE base, normal glide performance.

Perfectly adapted to on-piste, the District also lets you play in the park. The Amptek Auto-Turn camber from Rossignol, associated with a Twin Tip shape and a supple flex, makes for a very accessible board. An intermediate snowboarder can, however, have lots of fun on the piste edges, forests at the sides of the piste, or in parks. And like all freestyle boards, it remains very versatile on and off-piste.

Twin Tip snowboard

The shape of the snowboard is Twin Tip: the board's sidecuts are completely symmetrical between front and rear, providing perfect symmetry and centring of the board's features for riding in both directions in the same way. The Twin Tip shape also provides total balance when turning on the ground or in the air.

Ampteck Auto-Turn Rossignol Camber

The Rossignol Amptek Auto-Turn Camber is a reverse camber, but with a small standard camber between the bindings for better grip: 20% Standard Camber and 80% Rocker. Suitable for beginner to intermediate level. Very good grip on hard snow with this reverse camber (or double rocker) which provides buoyancy on powdery snow and facilitates turns/manageability.

Supple, forgiving flex

The flex is the stiffness of the board between the front and rear. That is the District is approximately 2/5, making it supple and tolerant. This type of flex is very homogeneous from the front tip (nose) to the rear tip (tail), offering very predictable cornering with no surprises. The drawback is that at high speed or on very icy snow, the board won't hold a nice, well-cut turn. It will slide and automatically slow you down.

Supple, forgiving torsion

The torsion, i.e. the torsional stiffness of the board between the feet, is about 2/5. This makes the board easier to handle and pivot and forgiving of edging mistakes. Supple torsion offers some freedom of movement between the feet. (the front foot can be angled heel/toe, and the rear toe/heel). Edging mistakes are forgiven, which is important for beginners. The supple torsion is also suited to freestyle/jib use.

Setback 0 mm

The setback is when the board's compression points with the snow are not symmetrical in relation to the centre of the board, but set back towards the rear. The bindings are also set back towards the rear by the same distance. 0 mm: no setback, these are fully centred Twin Tip boards, not only for riding in both directions, but also for better balance during rotations in the air and on slopes.

When do I wax my snowboard?

"Boards require regular maintenance: ideally requires waxing every 5 outings and at least once a year:
-either at the beginning of the season to start with a very good glide
-or at the end of the season to nourish the base in depth and allow the wax to penetrate into the base throughout the summer"

What's the right size District for me?

In Freestyle, use a fairly short board: -20 to 25 cm (e.g., someone measuring 1m74 can use a board between 154 and 149 cm).
Choose smaller for easier rotations and tricks. Choosing bigger gives greater stability at high speed and when landing jumps.
The Park & Ride should be chosen short. The 158 wide is perfect for larger builds.
151 cm => 1.69 to 1.76 m
155 cm wide => from 1m74 to 1m81
161 cm wide => from 1m78 to 1m86 (kg)

What is Wide in terms of the snowboard?

A ""Wide"" board is a board which is wider than the average so that ""big"" feet do not touch the snow when taking a strong turn and makes you fall.
Select a ""Wide"" board if you take size
44, and over.
""Wide"" is the width of the board at the centre. At Décathlon, we have defined:
- up to 250 mm: standard board - from 251 mm to 259 mm: Mid Wide
- from 260 mm: Wide
