Two models for two brothers at the top
As often, the inspiration came from an athlete’s performance. Or in this case, two athletes: Mickaël and Bassa Mawem, AKA the Mawem brothers. These iconic figures of climbing gave SIMOND the desire to co-create exceptional climbing shoes for the 2024 Paris Olympic and Paralympic games. After fruitful exchanges and back-and-forths between the athletes and the designers, a first pair, light and made of a carbon plate, was developed for Bassa. A second pair was created for Mickael, and adapted to be offered by DECATHLON for bouldering and climbing enthusiasts. The two brothers wore their shoes to the 2024 Paris Olympic and Paralympic games, after Bassa won the French Championships in 2023 wearing his pair.
