1 Aldridge Hill

A place that makes the very best of the hidden mystique and beauty of the New Forest whilst remaining a family campsite. Located near Blackwater Stream and Ober Water, with no amenities on site, this is an ideal spot if you’re looking for a few days away in nature. However, if campers are in the mood for a few home comforts, Aldridge Hill is just a few miles from Brockenhurst if you need to stock up on supplies or a trip to the pub. It is also easy to locate a number of walks straight from the campsite, including the walks along Ober Heath and Whitefield Moor. Bringing a chemical toilet is essential.

2 Hollands Wood Campsite

Looking for a New Forest campsite that’s ideal for the body and mind? Described as a ‘Paradise Park’ by those who know, staying at Hollands Wood Campsite is perfect for a relaxing trip and a holiday fueled by adventure. It is set in over 22 hectares of forest, with all the natural features still in place, including giant oak trees surrounding the tent pitches and wild ponies running, making it easy for campers to escape to a new woodland world. The campsite also features Balmer Lawn as a picturesque picnic spot and is not far from Lymington River. In terms of facilities, Hollands Wood has toilets, showers and dish-washing facilities, plus so much more.

3 Setthorns Campsite- New Forest

If you want the New Forest camping experience set to the max, Setthorns is it. Built into the woodland itself, this is a toilet and shower-free campsite that brings you the tranquil and private joys of forest living alongside New Forest wildlife, including deer, ponies, rare birds and tiny mammals. There’s also the opportunity to get away from the forest and check out the local area, including the village Sway that’s only 1.5 miles away, the beautiful Brockenhurst village, Beaulieu National Motor Museum, Paulton’s family theme park and the New Forest Wild Life Park. Positioned perfectly between Lyndhurst and Beaulieu, this campsite sums up everything that is good about New Forest camping. Both well-kept and retaining its natural environment, Round Hill has over 500 camping spots made up of green open spaces and secluded spots. The area has a diverse range of woodland life, from heathlands, grand oaks, a lake, and of course, the famous New Forest ponies. As a final piece of the puzzle, it’s a dog-friendly campsite that also offers every facility you could possibly need.

5 Denny Wood Campsite- Lyndhurst

In the mood for a more exclusive camping experience? The insular Denny Wood campsite might be exactly what you’re looking for. Located in the heart of the New Forest, with zero facilities and only 150 camping pitches that each of which are naturally separated from one another, it’s the closest thing to wild camping the New Forest can offer.

6 Harry’s Meadow- Fordingbridge

Although set on the beautiful Breamore Estate, the site only has off-grid facilities and zero electricity, meaning campers at Harry’s Meadow experience both privilege and a simple life during their stay. The area is both a dog-friendly campsite and allows campfires has a good selection of walking trails, including Langley Field Nature Reserve, just 3 miles away from the nearby village of Hale ( a Site of Scientific Investigation), and is also a 30-minute drive from Bournemouth Beach. It is also a sister site to the more upmarket and facility-filled Harry’s Field, which is also in Fordingbridge.

-Spotless, odourless eco-facilities
-Designated washing-up areas
-Fresh drinking water points
-Fire pits for hire and seasoned wood for sale
-Pizza oven at the weekends

7 Teddy’s Farm (FKA Teddy's Wood)- Lymington

One of the most well-known spots near Lymington, this is an ideal spot for those who want to go back to the basics of camping. Teddy’s Farm is quintessentially a family campsite located by a working sheep farm in one of the more spacious areas of the New Forest heartlands. It is without formal pitches and allows dogs, campfires and campervans, but not motorhomes, caravans or noisy campers. The campsite is attached to many of the New Forest’s well-known walking routes, and nearby landmarks include Lymington Sea Water Baths, the UK’s oldest lido.

Facilities Available:
-A choice of peaceful fields to pitch your tent
-Pick your own spot (please keep 6 metres between tents)
-Campfires allowed (with a fire-pit)
-6 hot showers.
-Hot water for washing up
-Composting loos by thunderbox and l’uritonnoir.  Don’t worry, these are clean and efficient!  
-A chemical waste disposal point for those bringing their own facilities (no extra charge for portaloo-tents).
-Dogs allowed free of charge (but must be kept on a lead as we don’t want our sheep chased, and of course, please tidy up after them)
-Free use of the freezer for ice packs
-10 minute walk from the farm entrance down a quiet country lane to the open forest
-5 minute drive from the coastal town of Lymington

8 Ashurst Campsite
