If you've broken the strings in your tennis racket, or have 'dead' strings (ones that have lost their tension), you'll need new strings to maintain your tennis performance. It is recommended you replace tennis strings after every 40 hours of play. But with so many different types of tennis strings on the market, how do you know what to choose?

CHOOSING TENNIS STRINGS

There are hundreds of tennis strings available to choose from. And over the years, strings have evolved from natural gut via synthetic gut and multi-filaments to the latest polyester strings. And each player has different needs and preferences.

Natural gut is the original and most playable type of string, but it's not the most durable. Synthetic gut or nylon is good for all-round performance. Multifilament strings are among the most comfortable tennis strings available, with characteristics similar to natural gut (but more durable, and less expensive). Durable polyester strings are popular for those who are prone to breaking strings, and the latest innovation 'softer' polyesters and multifilament polyesters are less harsh on the arm.

At Decathlon, you can pick up your strings from top tennis brands like Head, Wilson, and Babolat. And how about a new racket grip? Or if your racket has seen a little too much action, we also stock tennis rackets within our tennis department.

We also offer a restringing service in some of our Decathlon stores. So why not let our tennis experts take care of your racket for you? Just choose the strings to suit you, and we'll do the rest.
