Technical Information

How to fill your bag for optimal comfort?

Put your bedding at the bottom. Near your back, place heavy equipment (tent, stove, food). Pack your clothes around these items. The groundsheet can be placed under the flap; the tent under the bag if there’s no space inside. Keep a waterproof jacket and fleece to hand. In the pockets, place small items for the day (sunscreen, map, glasses...). The water bag should be placed in the compartment that is usually placed the length of the back.

How to adjust the back height of your bag?

Set the adjustment to the height you think is appropriate then adjust the bag (see "How to adjust your bag").
With the belt on the pelvis, put the straps around the front part of your shoulders and the load adjuster straps (sometimes also height-adjustable) at an angle of around 45° (they should never be horizontal or vertical).
If when trying on, the back seems too short or too long, readjust it and try it on again until you're satisfied.

How to adjust your backpack?

First, loosen all the straps (shoulder straps, belt, load adjuster straps).
Put on the bag. For rucksacks with a capacity of 50 L or more, place the hip belt correctly (it should sit over the pelvis) and tighten it.
For smaller rucksacks, the hip belt should be placed around the waist.
Tighten the shoulder straps.
Finally, adjust the load adjuster straps as needed.

Environmental measurements

Decathlon has decided to inform you of the environmental impact of its trekking rucksacks over their entire lifespan. This work follows an experiment that began in July 2011 with the French Ministry of Ecology. Scores ranging from A to E were awarded based on comparisons between Quechua's rucksacks only. Details on this project and the calculation methods used are available at http://www.oxylane.com/20/demarche-environnementale

How is rucksack volume measured?

The volume of each backpack is measured using a standardised method: we fill the main compartment as well as each pocket with little balls. Then we empty the balls into a graduated container, which gives us the equivalent volume in litres, with a tolerance of a few %.
The empty weight shown is that of our reference sample. There may be slight variations.

10-year warranty

The warranty covers the defects of the rucksack, excluding those resulting from normal wear and improper use. This special 10-year warranty will only be granted upon presentation of the receipt and the product. If the product is covered by warranty, it will be repaired or exchanged, free of charge. This sales warranty does not affect the statutory rights applicable in your country/State.

Our commitments

All our backpacks are tested in use by users who represent those for whom the products are designed, in conditions similar to those found in real-life. In particular, our "Test Missions" bring together the product manager with people who are not affiliated with QUECHUA, to test, develop and validate the products.
Test Product We test the bag's resistance to abrasion, tearing, colour-fastness with UV and washing and water-resistance both in the laboratory and in the field. Then a dummy reproduces the ageing of the weighted bag over years with fast walking movements, over thousands of cycles to check the resistance of the assemblies. The components (fabrics, buckles, straps, foam, zips ...) are also tested separately, allowing us to give these bags a 10 year guarantee.
Guarantee : 10 Years
