Not Available Now

We currently have limited capacity to build bikes in our warehouse. Due to this, we are limiting the number of bikes we sell per day and you might not be able to process your order at checkout. The count resets at 11pm every day so that would be the best time to try, although we do have a peak of attempts at this time so we can't guarantee a slot for everyone.

Technical Information

Which is the right size?

Several sizes available:
S: 1.55 m to 1.64 m
M: between 1.65m and 1.74m
L: between 1.75m and 1.84m
XL: between 1.85 m and 1.95 m
If you are on the limit between 2 sizes:
Choose the smaller size for easier steering (easier to handle) and comfort (straighter back).
Choose the larger size for easier pedalling with a more stretched-out position (position more suited to higher performance).

HOW THIS MTB WAS DESIGNED

This mountain bike was fully designed and developed at the B'Twin Village (Lille, France) and is the brainchild of an expert team of all-mountain bike enthusiasts.
The Rockrider team designed and tested this Rockrider 500 S All-Mountain bike together with their MTB testers.
The AM 500 S is assembled at our own factory in Lille, just steps away from the bike design team.

Frame

The ROCKRIDER ALL MOUNTAIN frame offers 140 mm of travel on the rear wheel.
Its geometry has been optimised for steering: 66° steering angle, 15 mm bottom bracket under the wheel axle.
Made of 6061 and 6013 aluminium.
Lifetime warranty on the Switch & Ride frame: compatible with 27.5" and 29" wheels.
148 mm x 12 mm BOOST rear axle.
Press Fit 92 bottom bracket.
31.6 mm diameter seat post.
Compatible with a bottle cage.
Weight in size S: 2.7 kg.

Front suspension

Rockshox PIKE Select 150mm fork.
The new Maxima Plush suspension fluid reduces friction and irritating noises from the suspension.
Charger™ RC shock cartridge with adjustable compression at low speed.
The fully adjustable DebonAir™ spring provides the same even feeling as a coil spring throughout its travel.
The slightest details have been designed to reduce friction, limit rider fatigue, and offer incomparable control

Rear suspension

Rockshox MONARCH RT shocks
Its new airy design provides flexible, lightweight travel, and the DebonAir air spring also achieves a stiffness that is generally matched only by much heavier coil shocks.
2-position (open/locked) compression adjustment with external release adjustment
The fully adjustable DebonAir™ spring provides the same even feel as a coil spring, throughout its travel.

Drivetrain

Ride anywhere, whether up or down hill with this 12-speed cassette.
SRAM XO1 EAGLE drivetrain, single 1x12 chainwheel, for larger development and easier climbs.
Rack:
SRAM XG1275 EAGLE cassette with 12 cogs: 10/50 teeth. The 50-teeth cog ensures you get the right gear ratio for climbing the most challenging sections, whilst 10-teeth cog is ideal for developing the fastest speed.

Riding position

Control your steering & stay precise.
Rockrider Comp Flat handlebars, 760mm wide for greater stability.
35 mm stem.
Semi-integrated headset with sealed bearings.
Lightweight Rockrider 900 "lock on" grips (attached to the handlebar with a screw-on system).

Brakes

SRAM GUIDE T 4-piston hydraulic disc brakes. 180 mm front disc, 160 mm rear disc

Saddle and seat post

The Rockrider XC/AM saddle has an Ergofit system for greater comfort while pedalling.
The height of the dropper seat post can be adjusted using the control on the bike's handlebar: 120mm of travel in size S/M and 150mm in L/XL. The ability to lower the saddle in a second with a single press of the thumb is a real advantage for all-mountain biking.
Feel at ease (and relaxed!) in your seating position on the bike during technical descents.

Wheels

Mavic XA 29" wheels: the 30 mm hook spacing inside lets you ride at low pressures with great grip.
Cartridge bearings for more durability and better fluidity.

Tyres

Hutchinson Taipan 29X2.25 and Toro 29x 2.35 tyres. Tubeless Ready. Hardskin.
A versatile tyre designed for riding on any type of terrain.
High side knobs for good grip in the turns.

Pedals

The bike comes with B'Twin Flat Evo platform pedals. However, for improved performance when pedalling and for better control of the bike when cycling, we recommend replacing them with clipless pedals with platforms or wide platform pedals with inserts.

A unisex mountain bike

Men's or women's mountain bike? This Rockrider AM 500 S mountain bike is unisex.
For added comfort, the women on our mountain bike team recommend the Women's 500 Sport saddle, which is adapted to women's builds.

Transport

The front and rear wheels attach and remove in 1 motion: you just need a hex key (size 6).
The rear derailleur has a screed that locks and unlocks easily to easily attach or remove the rear wheel.
