Best value bike on the market

Carbon fibre forks and price.

Not had any issues with it.

I'm an experienced cyclist and bought this bike almost exactly a year ago and have had no problems whatsoever. The ride is firm, fast and enjoyable. Gear movement is slick, robust and so far, adjustment free. I previously bought a similar bike from a well known high street brand and the BB went after three months and tyres within 6 months. It's just a pity Decathlon aren't in my companies cycle2work scheme otherwise I would have bought a second one.

Price and carbon forks

One year on from the purchase of my Triban 3 and 7k+ miles done the only quibble that I have is that the wheels could be better. So when I had my last service I changed to Mavic Aksium wheels and what a transformation, easily adds 1 - 2 mph to your average speed.

Response of the brand

Dear Sir,

I'm pleased to read that you are enjoying your Triban 3.

Some customers have, like you, upgraded their wheels and indeed it does transform the bike. The frame is very comfortable and forgiving and handles stiffer and more responsive wheels which ease.

I hope you keep enjoying your bike.

Excellent bike but poor wheels

Great bike for money by far

Poor wheels

I have been commuting on this bike for 2 months and completed around 200 miles. The bike has and continues to perform very well. Unfortunately the wheels are very poor and the hubs have gone on both the front and rear wheels. I called Decathlon and I am waiting to see what cover I have under the warranty.

water bottle mounting

I wanted a well priced bike for a charity challenge, staff at Stockport really helpful and can't fault the bike, great on hills which is good as I live in Saddleworth. Only issue was my water bottle jumped out of the holder when I hit a pot hole, then ran over by a car.I have now replaced the pedals for clip in type and replaced tyres, no plans to change anything else as I think it's perfect.
